Trip details

This private vacation tour starts from your hotel in Marrakech and takes you to the verdant oasis of Dades Gorge via the High Atlas Tizi-n-Tichka mountain pass and the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco’s most spectacular ksour (earthen dwellings) along the caravan route through the Atlas Mountains. Continue through Ouarzazate and Kelaa Mgouna (Rose Valley) and leave the main route at Boumalne Dades. Drive along this oasis valley gorge of the River Dades past ruined hilltop Kasbahs, valley-floor gardens and the strange rock formations of the Tamnalt Hills.Enjoy evening with dinner at your hotel.

The tour continues from Dades Gorge to Merzouga via the Todra Gorge (the highest oasis valley gorge in Morocco). Once you arrive in the desert, your guide and camels will carry you across the sandy dunes of the Moroccan Sahara. As the sun sets on the desert landscape, a two-hour camel trek will take you to your desert camp and home for the night: a traditional nomad tent. You will be served mint tea, a symbol of Moroccan hospitality, and a simple tagine meal freshly prepared by your guide. Dinner, overnight in a Berber tent.

After mint tea and breakfast, your camels will take you back across the desert to shower and depart. Transfer direct from Merzouga to Fez along the Ziz Valley Gorge and via Azrou and the cedar forests.
